About the Secular Coalition for Alaska
The Secular Coalition for Alaska brings together secular citizens to influence government officials, advocate for the separation of church and state, and bring visibility of and respect for the secular community in our state.
Religiously unaffiliated Americans are the fastest growing religious demographic. Thanks to the work of the Secular Coalition for America's member organizations, nonreligious groups and communities are growing and thriving. The Secular Coalition's state chapters work with our member organizations to mobilize the secular community into an engaged political constituency at the state and local level with a respected and visible voice in government.
Chapters of the Secular Coalition monitor and respond to relevant legislation through Action Alerts and in-person lobby visits, educate lawmakers about their religiously unaffiliated constituents, the values for which they stand, and publish letters to the editor and op-eds in local media outlets to bring the secular perspective to our issues.
