The Secular Coalition for DC brings together secular communities in the district to advocate for separation of church and state and evidence based policies. Through advocacy and grassroots organizing, we promote secular values and work to ensure that lawmakers recognize our community as a visible and respected voice in the district.

Secular Marriage Officiant now allowed in Washington, DC

Washington, DC now allows for a Secular Celebrant or a Civil Celebrant to perform marriages. 

Heretofore, only religious ministers, judges and clerks in the Marriage Bureau office could perform marriages.
